Yes, I know it's November Fourth. Yes, I know January is two months away at most.

~puts face in hands and rubs~ Dear mother of the great demon goddess Rin, give me strength to get through the day. ~lifts head and shakes~

I voted today. Got there early enough to be one of the first ones in line, late enough to not be waiting outside in the chill air for more than fourty minutes. I'm not going to tell you which way I voted, because then I'll have to kill my LJ in january if my candidate doesn't win, but I will say- I voted no on amendment two. Let gay people get married! Who the fuck do you think you are trying to say what's right and what isn't? If it's a sin, doesn't it say somewhere in the bible you can only show them the path away from sin, not block it? Just like you can't make a fucking horse drink? Stopping gay marriage doesn't mean you stop people from being gay, jerkwads- It just makes you look like an intolerant fuck. But then again, I do know a few people who would tell you- if the horse won't drink the water, shove it's snout in it.

Go on, let me see you try. I think it'll be pretty funny when the horse kicks you in the solar plexus and you can't breathe for a week, and I bet the horse will be laughing with me, if it's not still busy trampling your ass.

Good, now that that is over, I've been trying to figure out how to link in so that it goes to that one white screen with a story or whatever- I may not be new at LJ, but I never got the hang of it either, so if anyone knows, I'd love the help. I've got the first part of Matches burn twice written and to my newer beta. The title comes from a cutesy story I read a long time ago on ffnet, Hormonal five-year-olds. It's not the best written story, but if you like to laugh at how horribly things can be done, go ahead and check it out.


I have another small rant I'd like to get off my chest now, while the going is good...

IF YOU DON"T WANT TO BE A PARENT, THEN DON'T FORNICATE. I REPEAT: iF YOU DON'T WANT THE "HASSLES" OF TAKING CARE OF A KID, STAY AWAY FROM MEMBERS OF THE OPPOSITE GENDER IN SITUATIONS THAT MAY COMPROMISE THAT WISH.

Nothing gets under my skin worse than a person who is a bad parent just because they can't be bothered to look after their own child. A friend of mine's ex-wife left their six-year-old daughter at an out of the way bus stop for over two hours, because she didn't want to "deal with the brat's squalling" while she sits at home, watching sitcoms and [I mean this seriously] eating bon-bons and pint cartons of ben and jerry's ice cream. This same woman fought tooth and nail for primary custody of Adrianna- and somehow won, despite Shawn being obviously better suited to take care of Addy, honestly. The girls a regular trouper though, didn't cry a wink- takes after Mama Lya that way. And here's where she gave both me and her father a heart attack:

She flagged down a passing cars and asked to borrow a cell phone- four times. The fourth time, it was actually someone she knew, so they took her to their home [MY GOD, SHE GOT IN THE CAR EVEN THOUGH WE'VE TOLD HER NOT TO A MILLION TIMES] and called Shawn first, who then called me in hysterics. I'm picking up addy from the bus stop from now on.

At least until January.

This is for those of you whom I haven't told. I am going to be leaving for basic training in January, provided that all of my paperwork goes through fine. I have taken the ASVAB and scored in the 92nd percentile range, passed the physical exam, and am waiting for processing. I've practically bitten my lip though making this decision, andI decided that it is what needs to be done. I really have no other viable alternatives, and besides that-I'm just going to do it. I avoided telling anyone until the decision was practically final but I can't keep it in anymore, I'm literally bleeding from holding it in. I feel like this is a mistake, like this is a dream I'll wake from soon, but it's not. I'm shaking so damn hard, all the time. I'm not having second thoughts though, and for me that is a rarity. I'm joining the air force.

That sounds so damned final...

I have a semi permanent date now. A lot of that sounds so trivial now.

I'm going to be leaving most likely on the 27th of january, or the 17th of febuary.
